How important are cookies to the function of your PC?

Dpo you really need to have every little cookie placed on your PC from all the various websites or is it wise to block them? Aren't cookies mainly tracking devices to see where and what you are doing and serve no other purpose?

Am I right? If not, could you please explain the purpose of them?

Thanks. How important are cookies to the function of your PC?
Cookies are really important because that they hold a code inside each and everyone of them. This code leads to a temporary internet file. You may need to delete a lot of cookies because they can add up and slow down your computer.

They have more uses than just tracking, most websites use cookies legitimately

For example cookies on yahoo.com are used to know that I already logged in earlier, so I do not have to re-login every time I want to check my email or go to YA.
they can be good or bad. personally, i get rid of them-they add up.
All I ask for,was a chocolate chip cookie, from your Susy Homewrecker Oven, and a little ice cream on the side. And what happens. I have wrenches,a hammer, a crow bar, drinking a screw driver, looking for cookies in my tower.

How can I make my PC recognize a non integrated graphics card?

I got a really nasty virus and had to reformat. Not a big deal I keep stuff backed up on my external. After reformatting however the PC is only recognizing the invidia integrated Graphics card not the Radeon 9800 that is installed in the PCI slot. How do I make the PC recognize the graphics card in the PCI slot? I dowloaded and tried to install the ATI Drivers but that did not help. How can I make my PC recognize a non integrated graphics card?
Check the graphic settings in the bios. How can I make my PC recognize a non integrated graphics card?
K the instant your pc boots up press f2 or delete or whatever it tells you to access your bios.

Once you get into the bios, look around, and try to find the graphics tab. and it should let you choose between the two. Fiddle around, and if you do anything that might not have been good, go back to defaults. Be careful what you do though, especially with the cpu clocking because you might mess something up.

How do you set up outlook express on different accounts on your PC?

I have set up outlook express on one PC account and it works fine. But how do I get it to receive the same emails on different PC accounts without stopping other accounts from receiving the same messages. Is it as simple as signing into the same internet account? Will that allow different accounts to receive the messages? Or do you have to create a shared message store or something? How do you set up outlook express on different accounts on your PC?
You just set up additional Outlook accounts, one for each of your email accounts. (I don't know if you can do that on Outlook Express - you can on Outlook.)

How well do graphics intensive PC games play on a Macintosh?

Hi all! I understand that Mac has a Windows shell program that allows PC games to be played on a Mac. Does anyone have any experience playing some of the upper end PC games in this way on a Mac? I am looking to buy a computer, would like to purchase a Mac but I am a HUGE gaming fan and the Mac just doesn't cut it when it comes to gaming choices....

Thanks! How well do graphics intensive PC games play on a Macintosh?
I'd stay on the PC for gaming. You'll have to emulate the PC on the mac, so you'll be running the emulator under the game. It will be a double hit on your processor to run the game. How well do graphics intensive PC games play on a Macintosh?
I dont actually play any games on a Mac but from what i hear the new Macs can handle up to about 30-45fps on games and not show the slightest lag or blur or loss in detail. But appartly even the the Nvidia 9600M GT can not handle games at up to 60 fps or alot of other games at the highest setting. I personally hate playing games on PC or Mac and stick just with my PS3 and XBOX 360 and about to buy a iMac which i will not use for any gaming maybe except Sims 3.
Macs can run windows native now, not with a shell- it's called Boot Camp. On my iMac from 2006 I can run (on low settings, mind you):

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Crysis

Mass Effect

Fallout 3

Bioshock

(Im sure there's others, but those are the big titles)

The only game I have NOT been able to run is GTA IV.

  • How to transfer songs from one iTunes library to another on a PC?

I need to transfer songs from the iTunes library on my old PC to the iTunes library on my new PC laptop. How can I do that? How to transfer songs from one iTunes library to another on a PC?
What I did was that I transferred all of my all songs/videos onto a separate hard drive or memory stick (with a lot of memory) and connected it to the new computer. Then I just uploaded them.

The amount of songs you have determines the time needed to fully transfer it. For me, it took 16 hours because I had 1000+ songs and 30+ videos. I am almost sure that there is another way to do it, but this was probably the simplest way I could think of.

Hope this helps. How to transfer songs from one iTunes library to another on a PC?
