How important are cookies to the function of your PC?

Dpo you really need to have every little cookie placed on your PC from all the various websites or is it wise to block them? Aren't cookies mainly tracking devices to see where and what you are doing and serve no other purpose?

Am I right? If not, could you please explain the purpose of them?

Thanks. How important are cookies to the function of your PC?
Cookies are really important because that they hold a code inside each and everyone of them. This code leads to a temporary internet file. You may need to delete a lot of cookies because they can add up and slow down your computer.

Dangers of Cookies: Some cookies are registered to attract certain viruses. Such as if I was to register a cookie right now and send it to you through email. The cookie will attract a virus I created and do bad things.

They have more uses than just tracking, most websites use cookies legitimately

For example cookies on yahoo.com are used to know that I already logged in earlier, so I do not have to re-login every time I want to check my email or go to YA.
they can be good or bad. personally, i get rid of them-they add up.
All I ask for,was a chocolate chip cookie, from your Susy Homewrecker Oven, and a little ice cream on the side. And what happens. I have wrenches,a hammer, a crow bar, drinking a screw driver, looking for cookies in my tower.

The only cookies NOT needed ever are 3rd party; turn them off.
