My PC with xp professional 2002 has blank pages at times even the system restore how can i fix ?

I turn off my pc for 6 days and was working fine now i cannot open my email using explore, my Mcfee doesn't work and I cannot even go back and restore the system Everytime i open hotmail, system restore i get a blank page. I am able to use firefox but I would like to fix my explore. Should I reboot my pc?My PC with xp professional 2002 has blank pages at times even the system restore how can i fix ?
